\"CARTEL<\/a>After having finished last year\u2019s campaign, with the main purpose of improving the quality of education in Senegal, we are setting out on a new adventure managed by Calasanz whose main purpose will be to promote a new Piarist reality in Central Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n

Our expedition, following a canoe journey on the Senegal River, will travel directly from Dakar to Kinshasa in the DRC. Once there they are to meet Elykia and Esengo who will accompany them during their trip. This expedition will delve into the DRC and into its political and economic instability, caused by armed conflicts which flourish as a result of the exploitation and spoliation of its natural resources.<\/p>\n

The Itaka-Escolapios crew proposes some 7 activities that will help us to gain a greater understanding of the reality of the country, of the Congolese Pious School and of the children and young people who attend its schools and other social and educational projects.\u00a0 Elykia and Esongo, the new crew members, will pay special attention to the situation suffered by women and young girls in the DRC.<\/p>\n
